Nicholas Jones
Nick Jones is an FAA-certified A&P mechanic, Light Sport Repairman, and licensed private pilot with over four years of professional aviation experience and more than 3,000 hours as a light sport aviation mechanic. As Operations Manager at SkyKicker Aviation, Nick oversees all maintenance operations, as well as the Chipper 2 kit program. Nick has refined the Chipper 2 design to reduce build time and improve accessibility, including innovative rudder controls for pilots with limited leg mobility. He also manages supplier relationships and ensures production processes meet the highest standards for amateur-built aircraft.
Nick fixes, flies, and jumps out of airplanes at every opportunity, always with an obsessive focus on safety. He has a lifelong fascination with aviation and brings an intimate, experiential understanding of physics and risk management from his background as a professional acrobat and stuntman. His aviation experience includes leading maintenance for light sport aircraft, performing hundreds of inspections, and test-flying planes to guarantee safety and reliability. He holds a BA in Communications from Long Beach State University and has earned multiple FAA Silver Safety Awards for his commitment to excellence in aircraft maintenance.
